TJ James is a talented singer / songwriter / performer with a strong presence in the local and national music community. TJ was born with Cerebral Palsy but with a strong faith and conviction, TJ believes that ‘anything’s possible’.

You only have to listen to his music to realise that it is.

He is a musician first - as he says "People don't buy Stevie Wonder's music because he is blind, and I don’t want them buying mine because I am disabled - but because they like the music I write'.

Influenced by a diverse range of artists from the world of classic rock through to contemporary alternative pop, TJ has honed his skills as a songwriter and professional performer since the early 90s. His style of music today is probably best described as ‘classic AOR rock with an upbeat feel and message”.

In addition to professionally busking and performing solo in venues locally and nationally, TJ has also played direct support to prominent artists such as Wendy Mathews and Rick Price.

TJ’s work has been endorsed by industry professionals such as Mike Tramp formerly of White Lion and Hoodoo Gurus manager Michael McMartin who has described TJ’s material as ‘superb'.

Between 2001 and 2012 TJ James  recorded and released four independent CD's to date,“Able Bodied” (2001), “TJ James” self titled (2003), “Another World” (2007)  ’”All the Pieces Fit” (2012).

All his releases are in profit across the catalogue.

All of this  was  achieved without the aid of a recording company or distributor.

TJ also made the commitment right from 2001 to donate 20 - 30% of CD sales to help Cerebral Palsy organisations worldwide.

In 2010 TJ James moved from his hometown of Canberra to Sydney.

Upon moving to Sydney TJ James became involved in the local music scene.

After becoming involved in local jam nights in the Sutherland Shire, TJ James has progressed to performing regular shows at venues such as Sutherland Boyles and Miranda RSL .

In addition to performing solo shows TJ James is also a member of a local band called Johnny And The Easy Rders.

Johnny And The Easy-Riders features former members of well known Sydney bands such as Heroes From Heaven and Jukebox Jive.

TJ James is studying at the Australian Institute Of Music completing a bachelors degree in composition and production which he has undertaken to remain competitive in today's music industry.

While studying TJ James is pursuing his goal of becoming a songwriter for other artists and writing in styles such as contemporary pop and country rock.

In 2016 TJ James has begun collaborating with other songwriters at the Australian Institute Of Music including singer songwriter Pearl.

Pearl has written five hits on the ARIA club charts.

2018 saw TJ James continue his busy live schedule and the release of two brand new singles "So Easy" and "Rain At Christmas" which were both self produced and received well on digital music platforms worldwide.

2019 will see TJ James release more new music  and undertake more live shows than ever before in various musical combinations.
